Sunrise Adventure Session at Hug Point

Let me start with a few words about adventure elopements and sessions even though I never shut up about them. Adventure elopements and sessions are my absolute favorite. There’s something about declaring your love in the midst of the wild pacific northwest that just screams authenticity and beauty and yet it somehow intimate and peaceful at the same time.

Something I love about the Oregon coast in particular is its versatility. These aren’t your average flat, sandy beaches with a view of the ocean. No the oregon coast somehow manages to be the dunes, the forest, and the beach at the same time whilst playing home to towering cliffs, caves, and even waterfalls. I may be biased but I’ve travelled many places, and yet the Oregon coast still holds the number one spot in my heart. It’s where I go to relax, to breathe, to feel close to nature, to be with family.

Given all of that, it feels only natural to capture my couples there. The love I feel for the coast always seems to shine through to them, and some of my favorite sessions have been there on the cold, wet beaches, sunrise or sunset.

All this to say, this is why I couldn’t have been more excited to get up at 3 am and make my way to the coast to spend a foggy, damp morning with Bailey and Juan. These two were newlyweds at the time of our session and it was so easy to see how much they loved each other. Even in the midst of the cold fog that clung to us in clumps of mist, the joy and love in the air was undeniable.

Another thing that I love about adventure sessions and elopements is that they’re so versatile and customizable. There is no pressure to follow every wedding tradition from the dawn of time, just the clear intention to make something that is all your own and completely unique, just like your love story.

So break the mold! Turn your session into a date night, bring your favorite beverage, a picnic, your guitar, your dog, your record player; whatever YOU want! And the same goes for your wedding day. Make your day all about you and your partner, and no one else!
